How Do You Write Manifestation Affirmations and Intentions?5 min read

Are you wanting to begin your manifestation journey but are unsure of what a few keywords floating around mean? What’s the difference between intentions and affirmations? And how do you use them? By the end of this quick read – you’ll be able to easily distinguish between manifestation affirmations and intentions so that you can begin using both confidently.

Are manifestations and affirmations the same thing?

Manifestations and affirmations are often used interchangeably, but they are not the same thing. Manifestations refer to the process of calling something into your physical reality, while affirmations are positive statements that direct your focus to the manifestations being true now.

The difference between manifestation affirmations and intentions:

Intentions refer to the desired outcome or goal, while affirmations are the tools used to direct your focus on those intentions. You could view intentions as the “what” while affirmations are the “how.” You can remain focused on your intentions without affirmations – but affirmations without intent will simply be repeating void words.

How do you set an intention for manifestation?

When setting an intention for manifestation, it is important to be clear and specific about what you want to manifest. Focus on setting intentions that spark a feeling of joy within you and that you aren’t letting fear hold you back from. You can break these intentions down for specific areas of your life (career, relationships, health, etc.) or just focus on one category – making sure that you are checking in with how this intention feels in your body. Is this intention something you want because it feels good to your or because of societal expectations? Are you allowing yourself to imagine the highest most ideal intention or lowering what is actually possible for you?

How do you write manifestation affirmations?

As you begin writing manifestation affirmations, it is important to use positive and present-tense language. For example, instead of writing “I will have more money,” write “I am abundant and financially secure.” Additionally, it is important to make the affirmation personal and specific to you. As we mentioned earlier, affirmations without intent are simply void words. While you can always get inspiration for affirmations from others – you need to again check in with how it feels in your body. How do you feel when using an affirmation?

The affirmations you use are there as tools to help your mind stay focused on your desired end – but they aren’t what brings about your manifestation, you are. Use affirmations to help you stay focused and feeling good when need be, not as a crutch or a required task. If you are using affirmations simply because you feel like if you don’t your manifestation won’t happen – then that’s a clear sign that you are feeling unaligned from who you truly are and your power. Simply remind yourself of who you are at your core and that you are the source of your reality!

What words should you not use in affirmations?

Words such as “try,” “maybe,” and “can’t” should be avoided when writing affirmations. These words convey uncertainty and lack of conviction, which can hinder your manifestation. Your affirmations should be saturated in the belief that your manifestations are true right now. What would your affirmations sound like with unshakable faith that your manifestation is guaranteed?

Affirmation examples:

I am confident and capable in all areas of my life.

I am surrounded by loving and supportive people.

I am healthy and strong in mind, body, and spirit.

Intention examples:

To manifest a fulfilling and high-paying job

To manifest a happy and healthy relationship

To manifest a sense of inner peace and contentment
